2017 was evidently a terrific year for Tarrawarra. The aromas evoke chocolate, darker fruits and smoky oak; the wine has density, richness and abundant tannins. It unfolds with time in the glass, and will reward both cellaring and decanting. Gourmet Traveller Wine, Huon Hooke, 95 points Fruit off the H & I blocks gives it a crimson-ruby hue; overall, a stylish and beautifully balanced wine with everything neatly in place. The right amount of cherry fruit, spice, supple yet savoury tannins, and a freshness to the acidity that lasts to the very end. An elegant pinot, yet has a depth of flavour. 2020 Halliday Wine Companion, Jane Faulkner, 95 points This is an opulent pinot noir showing dark cherry characteristics with a hint of dried herbs. The palate is of impressive length and the tannins are supremely fine.Winewise, Lester Jesberg
