Once again Col McBryde's new release fits squarely in the 'new wave' of Grenache sweeping the Australian wine industry - fine-boned and high-toned, a bit like Col himself. The fruit stems from a stunning 80+-year-old vineyard on the Adelina property, and is left on skins for just over 2 weeks in concrete vats prior to pressing to neutral barrels. This extracts maximum character from the fruit in its purest form. Freshness and age-worthiness reign supreme here, and there is even a rock, mineral feel on the finish.
