From vines situated in the locality of Flagey-Echezeaux within the district called Les Chalandins – a neighbour of the lower part of Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. Facing South-East and at an altitude of 245 metres, they are planted in a deep clay-silt soil over marl. The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Chalandins is matured with just under 50% whole cluster and 20% new oak. It has a well-defined bouquet of brambly red fruit, rose petal and light crushed rock aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a rounded texture and a harmonious, silky-smooth finish. A lovely wine from Camille-Giroud. -- (90-92) points, Neal Martin, Vinous Really dense concentrated purple, plenty of weight here! The nose bears this out, concentrated raspberry, very Gevrey, the vintage is sweet while the appellation is savoury, which actually works very well together. Perfectly poised and a really clean stylish finish, which is all about the fruit. 30% whole bunch. A strong 4 stars here. Tested: October 2020 90-93 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
