Ranked one step down the Sauternes appellation pyramid from the legendary Chateau d'Yquem, Guiraud is produced from vines with an average age of about 35 years old and is a blend of 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc. Brilliant deep straw pale gold colour with golden edges and very pale gold hue. Exotic ripe nose – classic Sauternes exhibiting strong honeyed botrytis characters, ripe apricot and peach followed by a hint of toffee apple and spice showing excellent intensity. Luscious mouthfilling palate flavours of honeyed apricot, subtle marmalade, toffee apple, honeycomb and spice. Viscous texture. Very long luscious aftertaste of honey, ripe apricot and spice.
