Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, a stone's throw from its competitor, Château Haut-Bailly. Its vineyard covers an area of 72 hectares of sandy and gravelly soil and benefits from optimal exposure. 61 hectares of the vineyard are planted with red grape varieties (with 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc) and just 11 hectares in white (with 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon). The production of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion rouge begins with manual harvesting, in crates, then continues with vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats before maturing in oak barrels for an average of 18 months. Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2017 red has a magnificent dark garnet colour with ruby tints and exhales an elegant and complex bouquet of crushed black berries and ripe and fresh black fruits mixed with tertiary notes of mocha, tobacco and earth. Moderately full-bodied on the first taste, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2017 red offers a straight and fleshy palate. The powerful and abundant tannins support the rich aromas of black fruit that reveal themselves and line the palate in successive layers before ending with a balanced finish of remarkable length.
