The 1er Cru Cote de Lechet is home turf for Domaine Bernard Defaix - their winery and cellar is just at the base of vineyard hill in the village of Milly, they are the largest landowners in the cru, and the only certified organic grower there. The wine itself is racy, yet layered, with yellow stonefruit flavours bouncing around with crunching citrus and pebbly minerality. There is a small percentage of old oak used but this is a linear, pure style, not a Cote de Beaune wannabe.
