Domaine de l’Arlot produces a tiny amount of Vosne-Romanée. This wine (first made in 1998) is crafted from less than a hectare of vines, planted in 1949, 1970 and 2003. They’re situated just below the northern part of Richebourg and across from Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The vines are heavily affected by millerandage, which causes tiny bunches and berries. Quality-minded Burgundy producers welcome this trait for the intensity such grapes bring. This is so fine, delicate, juicy and pure. It’s classic but already open for business.
