Domaine Henri Boillot Les Fremiets Volnay Premier Cru 2023

In one generation, Henri Boillot has dramatically increased the quality of his Domaine wines and created a boutique négoce of the highest reputation. The wines, honed by Henri’s prodigious talent, display such a high level of detail and complexity that it is fair to say that they are among the very best representatives of Burgundy’s finest. The Volnay 1er Cru “Les Fremiets” vineyard is located at the border of Pommard opposite “Jarolières”.

The Volnay 1er Cru is very delicate, a little flowery on the nose behind subtle red fruit notes. Its complexity is in the detail. It is very approachable right now due to the vintage but also it shows a muscly side. The palate is charming and delivers a firm structure and lasting finish.

The 2023 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru is floral, light on its feet and quite gracious. Crushed rose petal, spice, blood orange, month and dried herbs give the Fremiets a very pretty register of high-toned aromatics that serves to balance the overt expression of primary fruit. 92-94 points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
