Domaine Henri Boillot Montrachet Grand Cru 2023

In one generation, Henri Boillot has dramatically increased the quality of his Domaine wines and created a boutique négoce of the highest reputation. The wines, honed by Henri’s prodigious talent, display such a high level of detail and complexity that it is fair to say that they are among the very best representatives of Burgundy’s finest. 

The nose resembles a grand cru Chablis with its oyster shell, iodine, quinine, lemon-lime and bee’s wax-scented nose. There is outstanding volume and concentration to the overtly powerful and muscular flavors that are supported by a citrus-tinged and markedly firm acid spine that also shapes the cuts-like-a-knife finale. Mid lemon colour. Discreet but majestic nose. No problem with at all. So many threads on the palate, one greener which lifts it, but the individual fruits should not be singled out – nectarine, passion fruit without excess, a broad base of your favourite apple, lean and sinewy but entirely compelling. 95-98 points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
