This cuvée Alexandrine is very powerful, elegant and fragrant. Domaine Marc Roy is an impressive Domaine of only four hectares. Their wines are arguably the most accomplished of the village appellation. The cuvée “Alexandrine” was initiated in 2005 with the goal of creating a village appellation wine as accomplished as a great 1er Cru. “Alexandrine” even approaches the quality of some Grand Cru wines. The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvee Alexandrine has the most floral bouquet of the three tasted from Roy, red fruit commingling with subtle mocha scents and brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, again, just a tad savoury in style, finishing with a dab of spice. This should drink well for several years, possibly more. 89-91 points - Neal Martin, Vinous.
