100% Grenache (planted 1918-38) from galet stone covered soils on Les Serres (S), sandy soils on Les Bédines (N-E), clay soils on La Crau (E), part destemmed, 3-5 week concrete vat vinification, pumping overs, aged 80-90% concrete vat, 10-20% 2-3 year old 300-litre & 600-litre oak casks 12-14 months. ‘The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée De Mon Aïeul is all Grenache (from three terroirs) that was not destemmed and is still resting all in used demi-muids. Incredible aromatics of blackberries, ground pepper, toasted spice, raspberries, and flowers all emerge from this deep, full-bodied, yet wonderfully elegant barrel sample that makes the most of this great vintage. It’s going to drink brilliantly for 15-20 years with no issues, and I’d certainly put this up with the top handful of wines in the vintage.’  96-98 points Jeb Dunnuck, Jebdunnuck.com Nov 2021
