This wine is a co-fermentation of Pinot Noir and trousseau from the original walled vineyard of Clos Maire in Arbois. The grapes are directly de-stemmed in the vineyard manually via crible, and the berries arrive intact in the vat room for a semi-carbonic maceration which gives this wine a lot of freshness. Raised in old burgundy barrels and bottled without filtration, fining and a tiny splash of S02 on bottling. Quite a funky release this year. The part carbonic lifts the nose and freshens the palate on entry. Cherry, raspberry, musk. Autumn leaves in a forest vibe and fresh pulled rhubarb. Lovely flow and acid profile with that stretched out vertical band of tanin bringing everything together. Grab some morbier cheese or a roast pork dish and enjoy this delicious cuvee which is one of the best to date.
