Very small production from this highly anticipated vintage after 11 years of ageing on lees. Predominantly from Chardonnay Grand cru’s at 72% with 28% of Pinot Noir in the blend including 8% of red wine. The villages of Avize, Aÿ, Ambonnay and Cramant are at the core of the blend and it was bottled with 6.5 grams/litre of dosage. Superb pale pink and copper in the glass. The bead is very slender and constant and gives rise to freshly picked wild strawberries together with tea rose and wallflowers. Floral scents and slightly herby aromas are enriched with hints of vanilla spice. Delicate and very fresh this wine calls for another glass. 'A rich rosé in a vinous style, with steeped raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors and an aromatic overtone of whole grain toast, crystallized honey and salted almond. Fine and creamy in texture, with a firm backbone of well-knit acidity creating a mouthwatering impression on the lightly chalky, herb- and spice-laced finish. Chardonnay and Pinot. Drink now through 2028.' 94 points, Wine Spectator, August 2021.
