Guigal Cotes-du-Rhone Blanc 2019

The floral-scented 2019 Cotes du Rhone Blanc is a blend of 60% Viognier, 15% Roussanne, 10% Marsanne, 8% Clairette, 5% Bourboulenc and 2% Grenache Blanc. Hints of apricot and pineapple also appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is soft, round and lush but with a little burst of peppery spice on the finish. Like their CDR rouge this is an ever-reliable bottle of wine. Consistent and consistently good. It always has a lovely interplay between lush ripe fruit and nervy energy. A blend that would equally please chardonnay lovers as those who might what something with a little more zip and zing. A great winter drop indeed!
