From vines planted in 1937. Rich dense purple. Unexpectedly dark and intense for Echezeaux. Super-ripe dense black fruit with a lovely tingle of acidity behind. This builds to a luxurious finish, sumptuous up front then some more detail and a fresher acidity, with red fruit pulling out of hiding behind the blacker notes.
