From one of the family’s best Crus, La Marega, this Amarone is quite an intense style of wine that demands a certain level of commitment and passion from the winemaker. It takes an extreme quantity of fruit to produce the wine, with 5kg of grapes required to produce 1 litre of wine. The elegance of the fruit comes through the finished wine however, as does the chewy intensity of the ancient drying process used to make this wine - leather, resin, prune, raisin and tobacco and liquorice. Sleek and silky, offering cooked black cherry and dried cranberry notes, with silky tannins and spicy notes, with a herbal hint that lingers on the long finish. The mouthfeel is long, intense and very pleasurable. Dive right in.
