Marsanne from Les Greffieux, bought in 1983-84 from Madamemoiselle Chierpe, re-planted 1990, can be plus a little Marsanne from Les Rocoules, fermented, raised 5-10 year 228-litre oak casks 14 months, from 2007 20-25% new oak used, only sold in France, not enough for export, 1200bts made JLL 

‘Going through malolactic fermentation when tasted. Barrel sample. A nice subtle hit of smokiness on the nose with marzipan and honey. Really rich with a mealy note and spiced pear compote. Needs time to integrate and shows real depth of fruit also. A nutty tinge on the finish. Big and gawky at the moment but shows power and weight and also finesse.
