Perrot-Minot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru La Richemone VV ULTRA 2014

This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction that is enough to dominate the fruit at present. The equally full-bodied flavours are more concentrated still with superb power and punch on the robust, muscular and notably serious finish that seems to go on and on. This isn't as stylish and classy as the Combe d'Orveau but there is just a bit more here. Drink: 2026+

'Good dark red. Musky dark cherry and small wild red berries on the somewhat sauvage nose, with complicating notes of brown spices, leather and earth. Hugely concentrated for the year but uncompromisingly dry and savory, showing sappy lift and terrific depth to the mid-palate but less immediate fruit than the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Murgers des Cras.
