This Sicilian estate just an hour southwest of Palermo sourceS fruit from around the ancient town of Gibellina and of course on Mt. Etna. Tenute Orestiadi is a project born of the Orestiadi Foundation, based in Gibellina, and a local co-op Cantine Ermes. Grown on a sandy red iron rich soil ‘Pignatello’ which is used locally for pottery. The vineyards are between 100 and 300 metres above sea level. Aromas of fruits of the forest, cherry, and five spice. On the palate rich, bright juicy sour cherry flavours with light round tannins. Medium bodied and a perfect wine for a warm summer evening. Lovely.
