Good medium red. Plum and small wild black fruits on the nose. Similarly wild on the palate, but with a roundness that comes partly from its sweet, spicy, smoky oak component. The blackberry fruit shows a distinctly salty quality. Can't match the Combottes for lift, but pepper and herb notes give a kick to the finish.
