Hibiki Mount Fuji Limited Edition 21 Year Old Blended Whisky 700ml

Taking excellence in whisky packaging to new heights is this special edition Hibiki released by Suntory in 2015 for the Japanese duty free market. The bottle features 24 facets representing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar set against a painting of Mount Fuji. The foreground depicts Japanese Plum, Pine and Bamboo, symbolizing felicitations, wishing happiness and good fortunes.

Reportedly limited to 2000 bottles, the understated beauty of the bottle almost resists opening. No doubt, most will be destined to become bar trophies - a shame given that the 21 year old is considered by many experts to be the peak expression in the range. Created in 1989, demand for the Hibiki blends increased after the brand's appearance in the movie "Lost in Translation". Jim Murray enthused about the 21 year old in his 2015 Bible, commenting, "...it's hard to raise the bar much higher than this. Stunning." 96 points.
